Episode 146: College Volleyball Weekly, Men’s D1-2 Top 15, 4/11/22

Coming on over from the VolleyballMag.com's discussion on College Volleyball Weekly, Week 14 brought about a handful of upsets shaking up some of the conference races and seedings for conference tournaments.

 

Today the CVW crew discusses the conference tournaments and some of the likely scenarios. From the Conference Carolinas, EIVA, MIVA, Big West and MPSF, Dan, Dave, and Jay will throw down nuggets (as they always do).

Episode 145: College Volleyball Weekly, Beach Top 20, 4/6/22

We're two-thirds way through the 2022 Collegiate Beach season and if anything has been evident it's that it's going to be a wild finish!

Guest Contributor, Alana Rennie of Arizona joins Charlie Ekstrom of Stanford and Rob-on-the-Mic to discuss the Week 6 action of the season highlighting the top teams, talents and play.

The CVW crew then selects some top duals/tournaments as we move closer to conference tournament time, and eventually the NCAA Beach Championship.

Episode 144: CVW Beach Top 20, Asynchronous Episode, 3/30/22

As we've concluded Week 5 of the NCAA Collegiate Beach season it is pretty apparent as good as it has been so far, the best in yet to come. 

 

In this episode, Mads summarizes the experience at the LSU Beach Invitational, top players and teams and her experience of being the dual-deciding-kill-for-match for #4 Florida St. vs. #6 LSU at Death Volley.

 

Charlie then describes her experience at the Pac-12 South Invitational, going 8-0 for the week as a pair, then receiving Pac-12 Player of the Week honors. 

Episode 143: College Volleyball Weekly, Beach Top-20, 3/24/22

It's an OWL TAKEOVER! Conference-USA Pair of the Week Mackenzie Morris and Erica Brok of #10 jump into the digital bandwidth to break down Week 4 competition highlighting some of the big duals and matches that went down. As always, we'll drop some numbers, stats and awards as Charlie and Mads would, but from an "Owls'" perspective.

We end the episode discussing "The Watchlist"-- some of the top duals we'll be watching!

Episode 142: College Volleyball Weekly, Men’s D1-2, Top-15

As we are two-thirds the way into the 2022 Men's D1-2 season, the CVW crew thought we should do a conference run-down "around the horn" style. With that we tried to break down the conferences' top teams and what COULD shake down come conference tournament time.

Episode 141: College Volleyball Weekly, Beach Top 20, 3/16/22

After 3 weeks of the young Collegiate Beach season Charlie, Mads and Rob take a peak at some of the top performing teams of the top 20, the top performing pairs at each of the 5 flights and upcoming tournaments/duals in week 4.

As an added bonus, the crew takes fan questions to help you discover each of the athletes' experiences, the life as a student-athlete and some other miscellaneous questions!

Episode 140: College Volleyball Weekly, Men’s Top 20, 3/14/22

Penn St. still playing strong taking down MIVA powerhouse OSU, then St. Francis comes in to do the same, but is our panel convinced that the Nittany Lions can continue to flex their muscle?

Hawaii-- are they still a formidable top-5 team? Even amid the Hawaii/Lewis matchup, one thing is clear-- the SSC crowd and Hawaii fans make for an incredible experience.

The guys then tangent off to an "altitude vs. elevation" digression mentioning the conspiracy of altitude and serving problems.

Finally, the CVW crew then discusses the upset of the top 2 teams in the polls: First, UCI's upset of #2 Long Beach St., then Stanford's upset of #1 UCLA.

Episode 139: College Volleyball Weekly, Beach Top 20, 3/9/22

After 2 weekends of NCAA Collegiate Beach action 5 teams remain undefeated and a new #1 has been crowned each week so far. Charlie and Rob delve into the action in week 2 chatting about top performing teams and stellar team/pair/individual performances across the nation. Are FIU and Peppedine ready to jump into the mix? Can LSU keep pushing for the top? Is TCU going to "hop" all over their opponents in the Islands? And of course, is UCLA going to hold on to that top spot?

We'll also taka a look at the AVCA and CollegeBeachVB.com polls to what teams are hot-- and what teams are not. As always, we finish the episode with some of the top duals we'll be watching in Week 2!
